McLarens Heathrow Office
We were appointed to develop a design scheme for the McLarens office, the headquarters of the aviation department of the company, located near Heathrow Airport.
Our clients were looking to create a representative and impressive office space to welcome international clients and to accommodate the needs of the staff for flexible working within a creative office culture.
Our initial research into the current office working arrangement and the company’s culture revealed that the total office area could be reduced significantly, without any loss of productivity. We took into account the existing structure, location of the building and the company’s branding.
The new design proposal was developed in close collaboration with our clients, accurately reflecting their needs and wants. The newly developed design proposal plays with the ideas of aircraft and flying, reflecting the core business of the aviation department.
While overlooking the Heathrow airport runway, the new office space has contemporary and calming aesthetics that support the well-being of the office staff. A mixture of private office areas, multi-functional meeting rooms and large open-plan office space offers great flexibility for the required working arrangements.
In line with the McLarens branding, we developed a comprehensive colour scheme and style of materials that provide comfort and glamour to the internal space. With some playful elements included, such as the cockpit chairs and historical images of Heathrow airport and aircraft in the entrance area, we were able to consistently continue the narrative of our design development.
After an exciting three months on-site, our clients were delighted with the results and their refreshingly different office space. They were proud to welcome staff to their working area and to host guests and clients in bright, modern conference rooms whilst watching the aircraft taking off from just outside the windows.
