Feasibility Study

A feasibility study is a desktop study carried out by us to explore different options that confirm the viability of your proposed project to help you make a qualified decision on how to proceed.

A feasibility study will cover:

  1. Planning and local neighbourhood requirements
Identify the local authority planning guides for your neighbourhood, and how could they affect your vision. The specific requirements and rights of your neighbours and local area might affect your vision, programme and budget.

  2. Environmental considerations
Ecological concerns can significantly impact your project and budget, for example, if your property is in a flood area or on contaminated land.

  3. Draft design options
Exploratory design options for your project, backed up with cost and planning considerations.

  4. Preliminary cost and programme estimate
An estimate for your proposed development including construction, legal cost and consultants’ fees.

  5. Detailed fee proposal for our architectural and interior design services

The advantages of a feasibility study for you as a home owner

You will receive an excellent overview of your proposed home renovation/extension project to help you decide how to proceed, without any long-term commitment or risk:

  • A qualified estimate of the viability of your project

  • Awareness of the risks and challenges of your listed building project

  • A draft cost estimate and programme

  • Quality design options

At this point, you can either confidently commit to your home renovation project; the initial work has been done and you can move straight onto planning with your architect.
Or you might decide to stop here if the feasibility study highlights unexpected challenges or unmanageable obstacles.

The study includes:

  • In our first meeting we will ask you specific questions to understand your vision, needs and objectives. We will also ask you to share any existing drawings, plans and images you may have.

  • With the findings from our first meeting, we will do our own research and set out the brief for your project, taking into account planning, budget and environmental considerations.

  • Based on your brief and the project appraisal we will prepare up to three design options for your home development project.

  • Following the brief and the concept design option we will prepare a cost estimate for your project.

  • Within two weeks after our initial meeting, we will present to you the design options and costs from the feasibility study for your project.
We will provide you with a detailed proposal for our services to take your project from concept to completion.

Your investment in our service: £5,000 + VAT.
